Standing in the midst of HafenCity in Hamburg, the Strandhaus, a mixed-use and residential building on 23 levels, offers thrilling views of the Elbe River. Strandhaus perfectly reflects the character of its surroundings, thanks to the pure modernist touch of the American architect Richard Meier, creator of the project.
Poliform takes part in this prestigious initiative by entirely furnishing one of the two penthouses on the upper level. The main tenets of the design approach of this “starchitect” – natural light, transparency, perspective, together with the color white that pervades the building, inside and out – are further shaped in the interiors by Poliform Hamburg, as emphasized by the furnishings and spaces. The items of loose furniture create a harmonious ton-sur-ton pathway from the living areas to the bedroom zone. The larger pieces capture attention by means of vivid games of light and shadow: from the wardrobes to the paneling, all the way to the dramatic island kitchen with a direct view of the fascinating panorama.
